Our goal is to publish books we love, because we know you'll love them too — and because the world could always use more whimsy.
Whimsy Sour was founded by Mickey Louise and Elliot Hale, two authors who believe wholeheartedly in following a whim to the ends of the earth. Between the two of them they have decades of experience writing and crafting stories.

Michaela Louise
Michaela "Mickey" Louise is a fantasy, sci-fi, and romance author who likes her meet-cutes with a little adventure. She loves to travel and is never without a paperback that she can tuck into a suitcase and read from somewhere new.
Her debut novella, By Any Other Name, comes out November 2026.
Currently she is working on a standalone sci-fi/romance novel, expected in summer of 2027.

Elliot Hale
Elliot is a fantasy writer who lives in the woods with their dog and way too many book ideas. When they aren't writing, they enjoy woodworking, playing piano, and relentlessly daydreaming.
Their debut novel, The Scorched Guard, comes out November 2026. They are currently working on the second book in the series, The Guilty Twin, which comes out May 2027.
Management and Design
Kelsey Brooke
Kelsey is a wannabe author who loves the idea of creative writing but is much better suited for spreadsheets and managing creatives. She maintains Whimsy's online presence and handles the nitty gritty admin (boring) parts of getting a book from idea to print.
She’s also responsible for the design of the website and our social images. She also designed the cover for the Rivas’ Watch series and By Any Other Name.
